These Terms govern your use of SaidVault, a desktop transcription application for macOS. Please read them carefully — by downloading, activating, or using SaidVault you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
1. Parties
In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “the developer” refer to Maciej Klunder (sole trader), trading under the SaidVault name, with a registered address in Warsaw, Poland. “You” means the natural or legal person who downloads, activates, or uses SaidVault.

2. Licence grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and to payment in full of the applicable licence fee, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use SaidVault for your own personal or internal business purposes.
Each licence key authorises activation on one (1) device at a time. You may move the licence to another device by first deactivating it from within SaidVault’s settings, which frees the slot.
What you may do
- Install SaidVault on the number of devices covered by the licences you have purchased.
- Use SaidVault to transcribe audio and video material you own or are lawfully authorised to process.
- Export, store, and use the resulting transcripts as you see fit.
What you may not do
- Copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or lend SaidVault or any licence key.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent permitted by mandatory applicable law.
- Remove or alter copyright notices, branding, or licence-validation mechanisms.
- Share a single licence key across multiple users or attempt to circumvent the one-device limit.
- Use SaidVault to process audio you do not have lawful authority to record, possess, or transcribe.
3. Free trial
Without a paid licence, SaidVault runs in trial mode. The trial is fully functional but length-limited:
- Files and URLs: only the first 2 minutes are transcribed.
- Voice notes and dictation: only the first 30 seconds are transcribed.
The trial has no time limit and is provided without warranty of any kind. You may continue to use the trial indefinitely or purchase a licence at any time to remove the length cap.
4. Purchase, payment, and licence delivery
Licences are sold as a one-time purchase via our website. There is no subscription, no recurring billing, and no automatic renewal. Payment is processed by Stripe on our behalf; we do not store your card details.
Prices are shown in US Dollars (USD) on the website. Depending on your country of residence, applicable VAT or sales taxes may apply. Where local law requires it, an invoice can be issued on request.
On successful payment we generate a licence key in the format SV-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and send it to the email address you supplied at checkout. Delivery is normally instant. If you do not receive your key within a few minutes, please check your spam folder and then contact support@saidvault.com.
5. Refunds & EU right of withdrawal
SaidVault is digital content delivered electronically. Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), consumers resident in the European Union and the EEA normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance purchases.
For digital content, that right ends once performance has begun with the consumer’s prior express consent and acknowledgement that the right is thereby lost (Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). By entering your licence key into SaidVault and successfully activating the software, you expressly consent to immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that your 14-day right of withdrawal ends at that moment.
When we will refund
We will refund you in full in the following situations:
- Within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not yet activated the licence key. If you change your mind before entering the key, write to support@saidvault.com from the email address used at checkout and we will refund the full amount.
- Duplicate or accidental purchase (e.g. the same key was bought twice).
- Material non-conformity: SaidVault does not perform substantially as described, on a system that meets the published requirements, and we are unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable time after you report it.
- Any case where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you a refund right that overrides the activation waiver above.
What does not qualify for a refund
- Successfully activating, using, or exporting transcripts from a licence and then changing your mind.
- Loss of the licence key through your own action (we will resend it to the original email free of charge — that is not a refund).
- Issues caused by hardware that does not meet the system requirements published on the website (Apple Silicon, macOS 13 or later for v1).
- Dissatisfaction with transcription accuracy where SaidVault is otherwise functioning as documented. Whisper accuracy depends on audio quality and language; we recommend evaluating accuracy during the free trial.
How to request a refund
Email support@saidvault.com from the address you used at checkout, include your licence key (or order reference), and tell us briefly what happened. We aim to respond within five (5) business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe; the funds typically arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
A refund automatically revokes the associated licence key. The next time SaidVault checks the licence with our server, it will revert to trial mode. Refunds processed directly through your card issuer or bank as a chargeback have the same effect.
6. Updates & support
Your licence entitles you to free updates within the same major version line (currently v1.x). Future major versions (v2.0+) may be offered as a paid upgrade or remain free at our discretion. We do not commit to a specific update cadence, but we make a good-faith effort to fix material defects.
Support is provided by email at support@saidvault.com on a best-effort basis during European business hours.
7. Acceptable use & user content
You are solely responsible for the audio and video material you process with SaidVault and for the legality of recording, possessing, and transcribing it under the laws that apply to you. This includes — without limitation — wiretap, surveillance, consent-to-record, evidence-handling, and data-protection laws.
SaidVault processes everything locally on your device. We do not see, store, or have access to your audio or transcripts. The transcripts are yours; we make no claim of ownership over your content.
8. No legal or forensic certification
SaidVault’s exports may include reference date and time, file size, source SHA-256 hash, model, language, duration, and word count. These features are intended to help you prepare careful, documented transcripts.
SaidVault is not a forensic, evidentiary, or court-certified product. We make no representation that transcripts produced by SaidVault are admissible as evidence in any jurisdiction. You are responsible for any verification, chain-of-custody handling, or expert review your use case requires.
9. Warranty disclaimer
Except where mandatory law provides otherwise, SaidVault is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that transcripts will be free of errors, that the software will run without bugs, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
This disclaimer does not affect the statutory rights of consumers under mandatory applicable law, including EU consumer protection rules.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with SaidVault — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is limited to the amount you actually paid for the licence in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or substitute-product costs, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct.
11. Termination
We may revoke a licence key — and the licence ends immediately — if you materially breach these Terms (for example, by sharing your key, attempting to bypass licence checks, or using the software for unlawful purposes), or if your purchase is reversed by chargeback or refund. On termination you must stop using SaidVault and uninstall it.
You may stop using SaidVault and delete the application at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (licence restrictions, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive termination.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SaidVault after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using SaidVault.
13. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Poland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Warsaw, Poland have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, save that consumers domiciled in another EU member state retain the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of their country of residence and may bring proceedings in their local courts.
The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform for consumers at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged and do not commit to participate in alternative dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration body.
